George Clooney Confirms A Rumor About Him That Involves Money & Friends.

A few years ago one of George Clooney's friends told a story that George held a dinner party for his friends, handed each of them a suitcase filled with a million dollars.

George had never talked about the story and so some thought that it was just a rumor. Turns out it was ALL TRUE! In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, George explains why he did that.

“I was a single guy. All of us were aging. I was 52 or something. And most of my friends are older than me.” He also notes that at the time he didn't have a wife or kids and his future was uncertain.

He went on to explain that his movie Gravity had just come out and the studio thought the movie was going to be a flop, so instead of a getting a salary, he was given a percentage of the movie. Which was WAY better for George.

“And I thought, what I do have are these guys who’ve all, over a period of 35 years, helped me in one way or another. I’ve slept on their couches when I was broke. They loaned me money when I was broke. They helped me when I needed help over the years. And I’ve helped them over the years. We’re all good friends. And I thought, you know, without them I don’t have any of this. And we’re all really close, and I just thought basically if I get hit by a bus, they’re all in the will. So why the f*ck am I waiting to get hit by a bus?”

“I remember talking to one really rich A****** who I ran into in a hotel in Vegas—certainly a lot richer than I am. And I remember the story had come out, and he was like, ‘Why would you do that?’” - “And I was like, ‘Why wouldn’t you do that, you schmuck?’

He also opened up about how meeting his wife filled his life!

"I didn't know how un-full it was until I met Amal. And then everything changed," he says. "And I was like, ‘Oh, actually, this has been a huge empty space.’" he continued "I'd never been in the position where someone else's life was infinitely more important to me than my own,"

Amal and George have three year old twins and talked about how quarantine has been for them.

"I cut my own hair and I cut my kids' hair and I'm mopping it and vacuuming and doing the laundry and doing the dishes every day," - "I feel like my mother in 1964. You know, I understand why she burned her bra."
