Pomona Man Among Astronauts Headed To International Space Station

Victor Glover from Pomona, California is making history. Glover will be the first African American astronaut to go to the International Space Station.

ABC 7 reports Glover will be the pilot and will join three other astronauts who are scheduled to make their way to space this weekend. The trip to the space station will last around nine hours.

Glover told ABC 7 he hopes the planet looks different when he returns back. "I hope that it's mainly based on the fact that we have a vaccine and that people can go about taking care of the things they need to take care of in their normal lives, safely," Glover said.
