The late Kobe Bryant has been honored by the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.
A jersey and pair of shoes worn by Kobe during the 2008 NBA Finals has been added to an exhibit titled 'Sports: Leveling the Playing Field'.
Other black athletes highlighted in the exhibit include Colin Kaepernick and Muhammad Ali.
Kobe and Vanessa Bryant are founding donors of the museum, donating $1 million towards its construction ahead of the grand opening in 2016.
