"Black Panther" star Michael B. Jordan is bringing another superhero to the silver screen. Jordan has signed on to produce "Static Shock," which will be based on the 2000 cartoon of the same name, Warner Brothers announced Friday.
The live-action adaptation will be helmed by Jordan's production company, Outlier Society.
"I’m proud to be a part of building a new universe centered around black superheroes; our community deserves that," Jordan says. "Outlier Society is committed to bringing to life diverse comic book content across all platforms and we are excited to partner with Warner Brothers on this initial step."
According to The Hollywood Insider, Warner Brothers is hoping the film will kick off a "multi-platform franchise." A director has not yet been attached to the film.
