Padres outfielder Tommy Pham is reportedly recovering in a San Diego hospital after he was stabbed in the back.
The San Diego Police Department reports the MLB player suffered the lower back injury Sunday night in an "altercation." Further details surrounding the incident have not been revealed. "We are aware of the incident last night involving Tommy Pham," reads a statement released Monday by the Padres. "He is expected to make a full recovery. The San Diego Police Department is actively investigating the incident and we will have no further comment at this time."
While Pham says the stabbing was "very traumatic and eye-opening," he's being just as tight-lipped about the attack. "I truly appreciate the hard work of the SDPD as well as they continue their search for the suspects," Pham says. "I’m on the road to recovery and I know I’ll be back to my offseason training routine in no time."
