This U.S. City May Be Banning Big Grocery Markets from Selling Junk Food

Just when you thought 202 couldn't get any worse...the Berkeley City Council said no to Snickers, Skittles and soda at the checkout line.

The unanimous vote on the "Healthy Checkout Ordinance" said grocery stores bigger than 2,500 square feet will no longer be allowed to sell unhealthy food and beverages at the check-out line, and instead are encouraged to offer more nutritious food and drink.

Only food items with no more than 5 grams of added sugars or 250 milligrams of sodium per serving would be allowed.

What do you think of this new ban?
