Vanity Fair is showing much love for Breonna Taylor on the new September issue cover.
Taylor is the 26-year-old young woman who was killed by Louisville, Kentucky police in her apartment on March 1.
The portrait was painted by Amy Sherald, who is also known for her painting of former First Lady Michelle Obama for the National Portrait Gallery.
Sherald drew inspiration from pictures of Breonna Taylor’s fashion and hairstyles as well as her attributes of brave, loved, and loving.
The painting shows Taylor in a light blue crepe dress, designed by Atlanta fashion designer Jasmine Elder of JIBRI.
The aquamarine color is also Taylor’s birthstone.
