Grandparents are the most amazing humans.
In a viral video, a 90-year-old grandmother shielded her 21-year-old grandson from police, Ty Anders.
The incident where three police officers pointed a gun at Anders happened in Midland, Texas. According to police, they were trying to stop him for a traffic violation, but he continued driving instead until he arrived at his grandmother’s home.
That’s where things escalated, and guns were drawn at him
In the background, police can be heard telling Anders to listen to them with guns drawn. Meanwhile, family and friends of Anders can be heard shouting at the police to not harm him. That’s when you then see his grandmother get in to protect him.
Police didn’t shoot, but they arrested Anders, who has since been released on bond.
Justin Moore, Anders’ civil rights attorney, claims a violation was never committed, that it was racial profiling:
“Racial profiling and pretext stops have been at pandemic levels in this country for generations. “This incident falls within this age-old trend of following Black men and arresting them for fabricated reasons.”
