A Florida inmate who was released over coronavirus concerns has been accused of murdering someone the very next day.
Tampa resident Edward Williams, 26, was taken into custody Monday for the March 20th shooting death of a Progress Village man, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Williams had been released from jail a day earlier "in an effort to lower the risk of the spread of COVID-19 within the Hillsborough County detention facilities and to protect the inmates," a statement from the sheriff's office reads.
Williams, who'd been previously arrested on drug possession charges, is now facing second-degree murder, gun possession, violently resisting an officer and additional drug charges.
He's being held without bond. Is it a bad idea to release inmates, or is Williams just a bad apple?
