California is making moves and has become the first state to offer benefits to undocumented adults!
On Tuesday, Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill that makes low-income adults from the age of 25 or younger eligible for the states Medicaid program, regardless of their immigration status.
They're planning on covering almost 100,000 people and it would cost taxpayers close to $98 million.
So, the law that's being passed won't give health insurance benefits to just anyone who's under the age of 25, it's for those whose incomes are low enough to be able to qualify.
