Last night Alabama Senate passed a bill to ban abortion!
This bill is VERY strict and only allows two restrictions! "A woman can have an abortion when it is "to avoid a serious health risk to the unborn child's mother," for ectopic pregnancy and if the "unborn child has a lethal anomaly."
That means if a woman is RAPED or if there is incest they can't get an abortion! This goes directly against what the Constitution says!
This is a direct violation of the Consitition - In Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S.Constitution provides a fundamental "right to privacy" that protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose whether or not to have an abortion.
Any doctor that performs an abortion could face up to 99 years in prison!
the Governor of Alabama will have six days to sign the bill, Kay Ivey will not make any statement until she's read the entire legislation.
Look I get it, not everyone lives in Alabama, so why should you care?! Most likely we'll see other states follow Alabama's lead! That's because this is a calculated move made by some in the government to fully over turn "Roe v. Wade." And if the government can go back and change something like this, what else will they change. What other RIGHTS will they take away from us! If this is taken to the Supreme Court, some believe that because of the judges on the Supreme Court they could vote in favor to overturn Roe v. Wade.
That's why voting for a President is VERY important!!! Because the President appoints the judges that will sit on the Supreme Court.
Look everyone has the right to their own opinion and everyone has the right to choose what they do with their body, but I can not support the government TAKING AWAY a Women's rights to choose!!
