The Bay Area is known for its bass heavy, high pitched snare, club banging records, but the definition of a "slap" can easily be applied to Thuy's new record. "Wanted" is an 80s-inspired record that contains a lovable hook, which will instantly make you want to simp.
Produced by DJ Cook Beats, the instrumentals fit for someone into a mix of R&B and pop:
"I ultimately wanted to make a beat that just felt good and could be played anywhere, at any time," Cook Beats said. "When I first had the main chords I wanted to establish a pop vibe, where an artist like Ariana Grande would kill it, but still give an old school funk sound that could be applied to JSMN, Majid Jordan and Tuxedo."
