Southern California had a spectacular display while the dramatic electrical storm lit up the sky last night.
Meteorologists recorded 1,500 lightning pulses within 5 minutes. Most of the lightning pulses were recorded over Santa Barbara and Los Angeles.
Lighting also hit a Delta Airlines flight departing LAX Airport, which forced the plane to return. The storm briefly cut power at two airport terminals.
