Brenda Carillo, her sister, and two friends were baffled when a waiter at Saint Marc Pub-Cafe in Huntington Beach refused to serve them unless they provided him with "proof of residency."

She didn't know he was being serious until the rest of her party arrived, and he returned to ask the same question. “I need to make sure you're from here before I serve you," he told them.

"I hope this employee is reprimanded for his actions," Carillo wrote on Facebook. "No establishment should tolerate discriminatory actions from their employees."

The four women immediately got up and asked to speak with the restaurant's manager, who was surprised at the employee's actions.

Saint Marc has since reached out to Carillo to offer a "VIP experience" and also said that they'd be willing to donate 10% of their weekend profits to a charity organization of her choice. She turned down the offer for the VIP experience, but asked them to donate money to Orange County Immigrant Youth United, an organization led by undocumented immigrant youth which advocates for those individuals in similar circumstances, according to Complex.

The employee has since been fired.
