BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have seized nine bodies from a Bakersfield funeral home after allegations of improper storage.
KBAK-TV says police were called to Beloved Care Funeral Services on Tuesdayafter the Kern County coroner's office reported that nine bodies weren't adequately housed.
The bodies were removed and coroner's officials will try to identify them.
State regulators are looking into the funeral home's business practices.
Calls to the funeral home on Thursday weren't answered.
